Background

Dr Emmanuel Sawyerr is a research fellow at the Centre for Logistics, Procurement and Supply Chain Management within 星空体育官网鈥檚 Faculty of Business and Management. With a background in engineering and project management, Emmanuel has brought invaluable expertise and experience into his young academic career. His research focuses on supply chain resilience, procurement, humanitarian logistics and sustainable food systems. Emmanuel is building an impressive track record for thought leadership and impact through his ongoing research, academic and industrial publications and professional services to some of the top journals in the sector. He has also contributed to policy discussions through written evidence submissions to UK parliamentary committees. Emmanuel is passionate about teaching, mentoring students, and integrating digital tools into education. With a PhD in Supply Chain Management from the University of Westminster and an MSc in Logistics and Supply Chain Management (Distinction) from the University of the West of Scotland, Emmanuel has a strong academic foundation complemented by extensive industry experience in procurement, project management, and telecommunications engineering. He currently serves as a member of the Retail Forum of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport. Before joining 星空体育官网, Emmanuel worked as a visiting lecturer at the University of Westminster teaching and supporting learning at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Emmanuel currently works with Professor Michael Bourlakis on a UKRI project titled 鈥淐o-production of healthy, sustainable food systems for disadvantaged communities鈥 looking into ways by which logistics and supply chain innovation can help address food insecurity and food waste.

Current activities

Emmanuel works with Professor Michael Bourlakis on the BBSRC project titled 'Co-Production of Healthy, Sustainable Food Systems for Disadvantaged Communities' conducting structured literature reviews, qualitative interviews, focus groups, value chain mapping and analysis and reporting writing.
